Feb. 25 to Feb. 27, 2022 at The Alliant Energy Center

Rikki Pardun & Kelsey Yeska

As a certified angling instructor and Executive Director of WI Women Fish, Rikki helps conduct fishing clinics and events year-round. She has been active in the fishing industry since 2014 and is a member of the National Professional Angler Association and the Association of Great Lakes Outdoor Writers. She is on the Hobie Fishing Team through Don’s Marine in Lodi, WI, part of the Women Ice Angler Project, and is Pro Staff for Clam Outdoors, Vexilar, and Cold Snap Outdoors. Her passion for fishing doesn’t end on the water, she also loves to work behind the scenes; producing photo, video, and social media content for outdoor professionals and organizations.

Kelsey is a Fond du Lac native spending much of her childhood fishing Lake Winnebago for walleye and perch with her father. Her parents fostered a love for the outdoors by camping, hiking, canoeing, and fishing in their spare time. Kelsey attended UW Madison studying Wildlife Ecology and Life Science Communications. There, she met her husband Kevin, largely in part to their shared love of fishing and officially set up roots in the Madison area. Kelsey and her husband began fishing bass tournaments together and joined Madtown Bass Club, which they are both currently officers for. She works for the Department of Natural Resources and gets to share her love for the outdoors as a communications coordinator for the Division of Fish, Wildlife, and Parks. Between club tournaments, opens, charity events, and clinics, Kelsey spends her free time camping, kayaking, hiking, gardening, tending to her small flock of chickens and her beehive, and loving on her dog Bella and cat Maisy.

Dear Expo Enthusiasts,

We regret to inform you that we have received notification from our host venue, Madison’s Alliant Energy Center, that they have extended the closure of their facility likely until 7/1/21, and therefore they have canceled all during those times, including ours for February 26-28, 2021.

As you all know, we’ve been working diligently to prepare for the upcoming event, despite the various challenges to space planning, safety measures, determining how to have our traditional seminar series in a virtual style, and even the extended closure of the Canadian border.  This setback is disappointing for us, as it undoubtably is for many of you, and our vender partners.

Attempting to prepare options, we spent much of the month of last July researching and visiting alternative sites, in preparation for just such a decision.  Unfortunately, we were unable to contract a space sufficiently large enough, and with the necessary facilities, for a date set which was acceptable to a majority of our vendor partners, as confirmed by a survey we completed in early August.

Thus our 2021 WI Fishing Expo has to be canceled, and we’ll begin making arrangements with our vendor partners for the 2022 event, slated for February 25th through the 27th.

Remember fellow anglers, this isn’t goodbye, just so long, till next year!  Wait until you see what’s new for 2022!
