In this session you’ll learn the 5 components of fly fishing: Equipment, Knots, Casting, Fly Selection and Resources. Learning the art of fly fishing can be intimidating to some. Let me show you that this sport is simple, fun and accessible! Come get a glimpse into this fascinating sport.

What can you do to improve your fly fishing skills and (hopefully) catch more fish? Learn about casting practice, fly presentation and the importance of widening your skill set to push yourself beyond the average angler. Come learn how to move your skills to the next level and up your game!

PJ Smith is an Orvis Endorsed fly fishing guide in Wisconsin’s Driftless region with over 25 years of experience. PJ left his full time job of 26 years to pursue his passion and guide full-time. He’s put thousands of miles on his truck to fish and find new water. PJ has explored the streams & rivers in order to provide you with an exceptional guide experience. PJ runs both walk and wade trips for trout and float trips on area rivers for trout, smallmouth and musky. Come fish the quiet waters.

Donna Smith has been fly fishing for over 25 years. She changed careers from horticulture to fly fishing to co-own PJ’s Guide Service and work for The Orvis Company in the Outfitter Department. Donna’s passion is introducing newcomers to the sport. She is the first woman to be an FFI Certified Casting Instructor in IL & WI. She’s taught fly fishing programs for: BOW, Flygirls of Michigan, WI Women’s Fly Fishing Clinics, Trout Unlimited, Orvis and PJ’s Guide Service.
