Jeremiah Burish

Jeremiah Burish from La Crosse, WI, has been fishing since he was 10 years old but just recently began tournament fishing in and around the USA. His vessel of fishing is mainly that of his Bonafide Kayak in order to reach shallow waters that most boats and anglers cannot access or are completely overlooked.

His first ever kayak tournament was a Kayak Bass Fishing Trail event in 2017 out of La Crosse, WI. He finished third in that tournament and the format and excitement of the kayak tournament scene absolutely hooked him. That event qualified him for the KBF National Championships the following season and he has qualified every season since. From that time, Jeremiah has accumulated 24 Top 10 Finishes, including five 3rd place finishes, four 2nd place finishes, and two tournament wins.

As the Director of Sports & Events for Explore La Crosse (La Crosse County Convention & Visitors Bureau), Jeremiah Burish is asked to attract and host sporting events, including that of major fishing tournaments. Some of these events include hosting the BASS Elite Series & Opens, FLW Tour, Major League Fishing Cup & Redcrest Championship, Kayak Bass Fishing Trail & Challenge Championships, Hobie Bass Open Series, Walleye Team Championships, and more!

Although not a professional guide, Jeremiah does regularly host outdoor writers & media professionals and can be seen in numerous TV shows, articles, photos, and more. This is an extension of his duties at Explore La Crosse in order to further promote the Upper Mississippi River as one of the best fisheries in the country. A job he considers easy for anyone who has had the opportunity to experience the great fishing and beautiful scenery the area has to offer.

Jeremiah is proud to partner and represent top industry brands such as Bonafide Kayaks, YakAttack, Blackfish Gear, Raymarine, ALX Rods, and Tactacam.

Dear Expo Enthusiasts,

We regret to inform you that we have received notification from our host venue, Madison’s Alliant Energy Center, that they have extended the closure of their facility likely until 7/1/21, and therefore they have canceled all during those times, including ours for February 26-28, 2021.

As you all know, we’ve been working diligently to prepare for the upcoming event, despite the various challenges to space planning, safety measures, determining how to have our traditional seminar series in a virtual style, and even the extended closure of the Canadian border.  This setback is disappointing for us, as it undoubtably is for many of you, and our vender partners.

Attempting to prepare options, we spent much of the month of last July researching and visiting alternative sites, in preparation for just such a decision.  Unfortunately, we were unable to contract a space sufficiently large enough, and with the necessary facilities, for a date set which was acceptable to a majority of our vendor partners, as confirmed by a survey we completed in early August.

Thus our 2021 WI Fishing Expo has to be canceled, and we’ll begin making arrangements with our vendor partners for the 2022 event, slated for February 25th through the 27th.

Remember fellow anglers, this isn’t goodbye, just so long, till next year!  Wait until you see what’s new for 2022!
